Rebecca “Monty” Montgomery
It all started when the high school yearbook needed a photographer. The school granted permission for a hallway closet to be converted to a dark room and a local photographer offered Rebecca (Monty) Montgomery brief instructions on developing film and printing photographs. A love was born.
Much experimentation took place in that dark room. Years later, Monty was formally trained in a university dark room where hundreds, if not thousands, of hours were spent watching images so magically appear on paper.
Influenced strongly by Ansel Adams early on, black and white nature photography will always remain close to Monty’s heart.
